Sialia Yachts appoints Marco Plicchi as new COO

Electric yacht builder Sialia Yachts has announced the appointment of Marco Plicchi as its new Chief Operating Officer.

With over 25 years of leadership experience in the luxury yacht sector, Plicchi joins the company at a pivotal moment, as Sialia Yachts aims to increase production and focus further on sustainable innovation.

A graduate in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Marco Plicchi has held leadership roles at several leading shipyards and yachting brands, where he oversaw the design, engineering and construction of bespoke high-performance vessels.

In his new role, Plicchi will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team at Sialia Yachts and its parent company, Silent Straits Group.

Sialia Yachts currently specialises in fully-electric performance yachts ranging from 13 to 30 metres. As COO, Plicchi will oversee all production processes at Sialia Yachts, while also leading the development of new product lines and models. 

Sialia Yachts is currently in the final stages of production for the 13.7-metre Sialia 45 high-performance electric yacht. The Sialia 45 yacht boasts a maximum speed of 43 knots and is scheduled to launch in June 2025, with its world debut set for the Cannes Yachting Festival from 9 to 14 September 2025.
